Stropharia
Mushrooms in the Stropharia genus are medium to large saprophytic fungi, characterized by their often colourful, sticky caps, and gills that turn dark as they mature due to spore production. Many species in this genus have a distinctive annulus (ring) on their stems. The spore print of Stropharia mushrooms is generally medium to dark purple-brown, with a few exceptions having rusty-brown spores.
