Cap initially conical-bell-shaped, later expanding and slightly convex, smooth, slightly grooved; grey-brown, watery, fades when dry. The central bump soon pales and becomes whitish-cream. The margin is thin and regular. The flesh is thin, brittle, pale ochre, fibrous in the stem; it has a pleasant scent reminiscent of watermelon. Gills free to adnate, with a fertile edge, beige to pinkish-brown in colour. Stem cylindrical with a slightly widened base, pruinose at the apex, with longitudinal fibrils, ochre to cream in colour. The stem has no ring. Spore print orange-brown.
