Cap thin and soft, at first convex, later flattened to funnel-shaped. Surface smooth and somewhat shiny, pale beige to ochre-brown, often with darker, drop-like spots, especially toward the margin. Gills crowded, decurrent, sometimes forked, white to pale ochre-yellow. Stem solid then hollow, often slightly thickened at the base, coloured like the cap or paler, with fine whitish fibres and white mycelium at the base. Flesh thin, tough, whitish to pale ochre near the base, with a slightly sour odour and taste reminiscent of freshly cut grass. Spore print white.
Microscopic Features: The spores are smooth and have an ellipsoidal shape, measuring between 6.5-8.5 x 3.5-4.5μm.
